Her winning entry, pictured here, used the popular Willy Wonka/Gene Wilder meme. Dhrubaa, a graduate student in the Department of English, won a Kindle e-reader for her effort.
“We’re always trying to raise awareness of the writing center, especially among undergraduates,” says UWC Executive Director Valerie Balester. “We liked the idea of having a meme contest to highlight the idea that we work with more than just writing. You can bring in a lab report, a PowerPoint presentation, or even an internet meme, and we’ll help you ensure you’re saying what you want effectively.”
