Did you know that the University Writing Center supports writing and public speaking instruction in more ways than consulting one-to-one with students? Here are five ways we work directly with faculty:
- Writing Matters, a newsletter for faculty. Those who did not receive a recent issue in campus mail can find the latest one online. Scroll down to find back issues. Writing Matters is searchable on our website.
- Check out Get Help Teaching Writing & Speaking, the pedagogy section of our website.
- We can present classroom workshops for graduate and undergraduate classes on many topics. Or instructors can download the slides (see the notes for a script) and do it themselves. Some of the topics include grammar, writing with a group, and conducting a peer response session.
- Write Away is an audio podcast series that features interviews with faculty who share tips and ideas for teaching writing and speaking. Subscribe on iTunes University or find it on the writing center website.
- About twice a month, we update Stand and Deliver. The writing center staff and guests blog about teaching writing and public speaking.
