The UWC’s summer faculty workshop, First Responders: Using Feedback to Improve Student Writing, is designed to help both new and experienced faculty respond more effectively to their students’ written work. Graduate students who are teaching are also welcome to attend.

Participants at our July 26th workshop will have a chance to share their ideas with other instructors.

UWC Executive Director Valerie Balester will lead the day-long workshop, which will cover rubrics, peer response, self-assessment, instructor comments, collective comments, and conferences. UWC Associate Director Candace Schaefer will also review using Turnintin as a feedback tool. This will be a hands-on workshop with  participants practicing the techniques described.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, July 26th in Room 204E, Evans Library, with lunch provided. You can register here.
