The University Writing Center is sponsoring two contests for undergraduates: one for writing and another for videos. The contests are designed to recognize outstanding undergraduate communication at Texas A&M University.

The winner of each contest will receive a $100 gift certificate to Half-Price Books.

Entries may be on any subject and may have been created specifically for the contest or created for a class at Texas A&M. Entries created originally for a class may be modified for the contest: for example, a paper or video may be shortened to fit contest parameters. All work must be the original work of the student except for external citations, which must be properly documented. Previously published work is not eligible.

Entries are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013.

Entries will be judged by the faculty members of the W and C Course Advisory committee, and the winner will be announced in mid April.
